THE SPIRITUALITY OF SUPERMAN

     I had forgotten until recently that Superman once wore a black suit with a silver Superman logo. Its called the recovery suit.
     I argue that the significance of Superman's black recovery suit is spiritual and should get special recognition on the Easter holiday alongside of the Easter Bunny, Easter eggs, Easter baskets, Chocolate, etc.
     After Superman was killed by Doomsday in the "Death Of Superman" comic, the kryptonians put Kal-El in the black suit while they were resurrecting him. The Black suit helped Kal-El absorb more energy from the sun and resurrect faster. Superman also briefly wore the black suit when he lost his ability to get energy from the sun.

     So, the spiritual meaning of Superman's black recovery suit is about death and resurrection by increasing one's connection with a higher power. Superman's higher power is the sun. This parallels with the story of the resurrection of Jesus Christ and the resurrection of Lazarus in the Bible.
     So when DC Comics shows us Superman wearing his black recovery suit, They're preaching the gospel of Those who believe in Christ Jesus and are thought to be dead are actually NOT dead. They're just ASLEEP, regenerating, and waiting to be called forth from the grave like Lazarus or Jesus Christ himself.

     So, Superman's black recovery suit is a symbol of rebirth due to the energy of a higher power, like the Easter bunny and Easter eggs. So, as a Christian and a fan of the DC Multiverse, I will celebrate the Easter holiday, which is a celebration of Jesus Christ's resurrection, by doing the following: I'll re-read the "Death Of Superman" comic. I'll wear apparel that looks like Superman's black recovery suit. I'll decorate my home with images and figures of Superman wearing his black recovery suit.
